"KISS ME KATE" IS COLE PORTER AT HIS BEST - with such scores as "Wunderbar", "So In Love", "Why Can’t You Behave", "Another Opening, Another Show", "Too Darn Hot", "Always True To You In My Fashion". Based on William Shakespeare’s “Taming Of The Shrew” two performers, Fred and Lilli, are brought together for the staging of the Shrew, a parallel to their own offstage relationship. In this comical rendition it is hard to tell which “shrew” we are looking at Kate or Lilli?  Add an addicted gambler, Bill, who signs an IOU in Fred’s name, much to the stress of his dance partner, Lois which leads to a couple of thugs trying to collect the debt- and what do you have?.. A tangled comical mess that will leave all audiences with a chuckle.

What's New
The Port Colborne Operatic Society - always a not for profit organization is now a registered charity #832443675RR0001, as of July 15, 2005, acknowledging the volunteer run Society and it's objective to "Bring Broadway Home" for the least possible admission fee while supporting children's charities & local cultural projects such as the Port Colborne Festival of the Arts. It's great to have our efforts recognized.

The Society welcomes" Community Partners" as sponsors of our individual performances. "Kiss Me Kate" will need nine (9) community partners. Current partnership is $250.00 per performance which includes two (2) complimentary tickets to your performance, a large announcement in our lobby, a printed notice of your support in the show program, and audio announcement to our patrons on the date of your sponsorship.

"Live Musicians" Orchestra
With this newest addition in our orchestra pit, the Society requires financial support to meet the musicians fee and orchestration music from New York. A brand new venture offered to a contributing "COMMUNITY PARTNER".
Please Note: * Orchestra members must meet he Musicians' Union's Regulations" and are the Society's only non-volunteer sector. Our Musicians cannot be a member of our society, as they receive payment.
